Counselling in Ladbroke Grove

Help offers face-to-face counselling in Ladbroke Grove, a couple of minutes from the station. As a local charity, we’re here for adults in North Kensington and beyond who are struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, stress, relationships, money worries or difficult past experiences. Reaching out can feel like a big step. We’ll make it as simple as we can.

Counselling isn’t only for a crisis. Almost a third of people who’d had therapy recently (31%) went for help with confidence, and self-esteem, according to BACP’s 2026 Public Perceptions Survey.

Our fees work on a sliding scale, so the amount you pay depends on your income. All our counsellors are registered with BACP, UKCP or an equivalent professional body and have regular, expert supervision. You can contact us directly, with no GP referral needed.

What to expect

The first step

Everyone starts with an initial online assessment, which costs £25. It’s a chance to tell us, in your own words, what’s going on and what kind of support you’re looking for. You can also say if you’d prefer a counsellor of a certain gender, background or language. Our clinical team then matches you with a counsellor, and most clients start within two weeks.

Face-to-face counselling in Ladbroke Grove

This location is close to home for many people in North Kensington, Notting Hill, and around Portobello Road. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place at the same time each week.

Meeting your therapist in person, in a space that’s part of your local community, can feel reassuring. It also gives you an hour that’s just for you, away from the pressures of home.

Confidentiality

What you talk about in counselling stays between you and your counsellor. They would only share information in rare situations where there’s a serious risk of harm, and they’ll explain this clearly at your first session.

How long counselling takes

There isn’t a fixed course. Most Help clients come for several months, and some choose to continue for longer. Together with your counsellor, you’ll review how things are going from time to time.

Fees

We want low-cost counselling in Ladbroke Grove and at our other London locations to be genuinely within reach. That’s why our fees are set on a sliding scale according to income and agreed with you at your initial assessment. If our fees are still hard to manage, please let us know and we’ll talk through what else we can offer. See our Fees page for details.

Testimonial - Client1
Client testimonial

“This amazing organisation has given me the belief that I can or do have the skills/tools to cope with whatever life throws at one. The weekly sessions have resulted in re-gaining the lost inner strength, a heightened level of self-awareness, clarity and an articulation in all areas of my life. HELP has offered an intrinsically safe sanctuary, free of judgement and the sessions have resulted in giving a confidence and belief, that had somehow got mislaid. I feel immensely lucky to have been given the compassionate support I have received from my remarkable counsellor."
