Counselling in Kensal Town & Westbourne Park

Looking for counselling or a therapist in Kensal Town? Help offers low-cost, face-to-face sessions in a quiet, private room near Westbourne Park. Our charity supports adults through anxiety, depression, loss, stress, relationship difficulties, life changes and the effects of painful past events. Taking the first step can be the hardest part, so we keep it straightforward.

Fees are on a sliding scale and depend on your income. As a charity, we offer support from both qualified and trainee counsellors, all of them registered with a professional body and closely supervised. You can contact us directly. There’s no need for a GP referral.

Most people who try it would do it again: 76% of those who’ve had therapy would recommend it, according to BACP’s 2026 Public Perceptions Survey.

What to expect

The assessment

We begin with an online initial assessment costing £25. It’s a space to explain what’s been happening and what you’re hoping counselling will help with. Mention any preferences about your counsellor, too. Our clinical team then matches you, and most clients start counselling within two weeks.

Face-to-face counselling in Kensal Town

This location is handy if you’re in Kensal Town, Westbourne Park, Queen’s Park, Kensal Rise or the northern end of Ladbroke Grove. Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place at a regular time each week.

Meeting your therapist in person in a calm, local setting can help you feel grounded. Many people also find the change of scene makes it easier to step back from everyday pressures and think.

Confidentiality

What you say in your sessions is kept confidential. In rare cases where someone is at serious risk of harm, your counsellor may need to share information. They’ll explain these limits when you first meet.

Number of sessions

There’s no fixed course. Most clients attend for several months, and some for longer. You’ll review your progress with your counsellor as you go and agree together when to end.

Fees

To keep counselling affordable in Kensal Town, we set fees on a sliding scale linked to income. Your fee is agreed at the initial assessment. If our fees are still out of reach, let us know and we’ll look at other options. More on our Fees page.

Testimonial - Client1
Client testimonial

“This amazing organisation has given me the belief that I can or do have the skills/tools to cope with whatever life throws at one. The weekly sessions have resulted in re-gaining the lost inner strength, a heightened level of self-awareness, clarity and an articulation in all areas of my life. HELP has offered an intrinsically safe sanctuary, free of judgement and the sessions have resulted in giving a confidence and belief, that had somehow got mislaid. I feel immensely lucky to have been given the compassionate support I have received from my remarkable counsellor."
