On New Kings Road, a short walk from Parsons Green station, Help offers affordable counselling in a modern, fully accessible building. We’re a charity working with adults who want help with anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, relationship troubles, changes in their life or memories that still hurt. If you’ve been putting off getting support, this could be a good moment to start.
You wouldn’t be alone. More than a third of UK adults (37%) have now seen a therapist, according to BACP’s 2026 Public Perceptions Survey.
We charge on a sliding scale, matched to what you earn. Each Help counsellor is registered with BACP, UKCP or an equivalent professional body and has regular supervision from experienced clinicians. You don’t need a GP referral. Contact us yourself whenever you’re ready.
What to expect
Your first conversation with us
You’ll start with an online initial assessment, which costs £25. It’s a chance to talk about what you’re going through, what you’d like to be different and anything that matters to you in a counsellor. Our clinical team then matches you with a counsellor at our Parsons Green location who’s a good fit for you. Most clients start within two weeks of their assessment.
Face-to-face counselling in Parsons Green
This location suits people living or working in Parsons Green, Fulham Broadway, Sands End, Walham Green or around Eel Brook Common. Sessions last 50 minutes and are held at the same time each week.
Counselling in person gives your week a fixed point that’s just for you. Many people find a quiet room with a therapist fully focused on them helps them say things they’ve never said out loud before.
Confidentiality
Your counsellor keeps what you share confidential. They’d only pass anything on in rare situations involving serious risk of harm, and they’ll explain this at your first session.
How many sessions
There’s no set end point. Most clients come for several months and some for longer. Your counsellor will review things with you regularly, and you’ll choose together when it’s time to stop.
Fees
We charge on a sliding scale so that affordable counselling is available on any income. Your fee is agreed with you at the initial assessment. If you’re struggling to pay even at the lower end, please tell us and we’ll discuss other options. See our Fees page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get to Help’s Parsons Green counselling location?
Parsons Green station (District line) is about 9 minutes’ walk away, and Putney Bridge (District line) is about 6 minutes. Several buses run along New Kings Road. When you arrive, go to the main reception, where the building team will direct you.
Is there step-free access in the building?
Yes. The building is fully accessible, with a lift to the upper floors. Station access varies, so check your route with TfL’s step-free journey planner before you travel.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes. The building has on-site parking spaces, and there are street parking options nearby.
Do I need to come to the Parsons Green counselling centre for every session, or can some be online?
If you choose to have therapy sessions in person, you should attend the agreed location at the same day and time each week. Help is not able to alternate your sessions between online and face-to-face.
How quickly can I start counselling?
You don’t need a GP referral. Book your initial assessment online, or fill in our Refer Yourself form and we’ll contact you. Assessments run on most weekdays, and most people begin counselling within a fortnight.
What if there’s no therapist available near Parsons Green?
If no counsellor is free here when you’re ready, you can wait for a space, choose our nearby Putney Bridge location, or begin with online sessions. We’ll talk you through the options at your assessment.
